Degree Requirements

What is the Capstone Project?

All students complete a project investigating a real materials characterization problem using multiple analytical techniques covered in the program, presenting their findings at the end of winter term. Students also have the opportunity to collaborate with those in the electrochemistry MS program and publish their findings in the future.

How does the internship component of the program work?

Internship positions are not guaranteed, but we use our professional connections to help students secure positions. Additionally, professional development services provide students with career coaching, mock interviews, and resume/CV reviewing/editing to assist them in obtaining internships. Internship details, including responsibilities and compensation, are determined directly between students and employers.
