The mission of the Support Network for Research and Innovation in Solar Energy (SuNRISE) is to serve Oregon in advancing photovoltaic technology for solar energy conversion. The key elements of the network are:
(1) The Oregon BEST PV Characterization Laboratory: a shared user laboratory for the characterization, evaluation, and fabrication of photovoltaic cells.
(2) The solar radiation monitoring laboratory: providing high quality scientific data to evaluate the solar resource.
(3) The graduate internship program that trains scientists and engineers for the solar industry.
These elements work to stimulate collaboration and to promote education, research and development within Oregon’s Universities and growing solar industry.
