The Surface Analytical facility houses instrumentation for characterizing the composition of the outermost few nanometers of materials, and for imaging surface topography and chemistry. Techniques include TOF-SIMS for high-sensitivity spectral analysis and imaging, XPS for determining surface composition and chemical states.
